AHC-Shanthiham is a national-level organization with over 36 years of service, dedicated to supporting all, particularly those in crisis and at risk of mental health problems. It provides training to a wide range of professionals, community-based organizations, national and international NGOs, and local volunteers to enhance knowledge and practices in promoting well-being and positive mental health. The organization also engages in evidence-based research and publications on effective methods to strengthen community well-being. With a focus on children, women, elders, families, and communities, AHC-Shanthiham works to ensure overall well-being while also promoting economic empowerment. It actively fosters a strong civil society through participatory development approaches, diversity promotion, and collaboration with government and non-governmental stakeholders. The organization has extensive experience in project management, overseen by a diverse Board of Management, and consistently secures donor funds through project proposals, ensuring long-term financial stability without ever facing closure. Its projects have been successfully implemented across the Northern Province, upcountry, and beyond. AHC-Shanthiham operates under a robust governance framework with a constitution, by-laws, and comprehensive policies including HR, child protection and safeguarding, photography, anti-corruption, whistleblowing, financial management, and procurement, all approved by its Board of Directors and applied in its operations. Additionally, external audits are conducted annually to maintain accountability and transparency.
